Record numbers are expected at the 2022 pool & spa trade show, SPLASH!, to be held on the Gold Coast, Australia in June. The expo is 30% larger than the last show held in 2018 and now occupies all the available exhibition space at the Gold Coast Convention Centre.
Record Attendance expected at the Pool Trade Show in Australia
The industry has thrived during covid with development applications for pools up 27% in the past twelve months. Australians have been unable to travel overseas for the past two years, and many have invested in house renovations including installing pools in their back yards.
SPLASH! Expo is the largest pool & spa show in Australasia and will have more than 150 companies exhibiting. The 2022 event has introduced a number of new features:
- The popular education program has expanded, and theatres brought onto the show floor with all seminars free to attend for the first time
- New this edition will be the introduction of a keynote speaker to attract the crowds at the start of the show. Gold medal Olympian Brooke Hanson will kick off the first days speaking at a Women's Breakfast followed by a motivational speech just prior to the doors opening
- A new Innovation Pavilion showcasing exciting new products will be hosted for the first time
- And to take the networking opportunities to another level, the show owners, SPASA (Swimming Pool & Spa Association), will be staging the inaugural SPLASH After-Party as the show closes - an extravagant party for suppliers and buyers.
With International and State borders recently reopened, organisers Interpoint Events are expecting to see international buyers return. Simon Cooper, Managing Director of Interpoint said "we are seeing an uptick in international registrations in the past few weeks as international travel restrictions have eased. Many of the airlines are offering discounted airfares to the Gold Coast and we have had news from local hotels that accommodation enquires have increased. In 2018 we had buyers from 27 countries and given the show is much larger we are expecting even more this year". SPLASH! has a long history and strong reputation for bringing the pool & spa industry together. Alongside the expo with be the Australian Swim Schools Association annual conference with more than 400 delegates.
SPLASH! Expo will take place from Wednesday 22nd -Thursday 23rd June at the Gold Coast Convention Centre. Back of house site tours, a golf day and a half day program for commercial aquatic facilities will also take place during the week.
