Showcasing the best in the business, the annual British Pool & Hot Tub Awards, organised by SPATA and BISHTA, held its ceremony on the evening of Tuesday, February 6th at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Uniting the UK's most proficient wet leisure companies for a collective celebration
The British Pool & Hot Tub Awards highlights companies committed to setting themselves apart as leading professionals in their field, contributing to elevating industry standards through their unwavering dedication.
Each year, SPATA and BISHTA invite their members to participate in the awards. These awards encompass categories within the swimming pool, spa, hot tub, and wellness industry, drawing entries from companies throughout the British Isles. Notably, some entries are submitted from overseas members. The awards celebrate excellence in construction, design, installation, retail, hire, service, and innovation, showcasing the finest contributions in these wide-ranging aspects of the industry.
This event is held annually during SPATEX, the UK's sole dedicated international pool, spa, and wellness show, from Tuesday, February 6th to Thursday, February 8th, 2023. This year's VIP guest was competitive swimmer Joe Litchfield, who is set to participate in the Paris Olympics 2024, fuelled by his lifelong love for swimming.
The companies that emerged as the top winners at the SPATA awards on the night were announced as follows:
The prestigious SPATA Dick Millward Trophy for Pool Contractor of the Year was Centurion Leisure, securing the highly celebrated award. Centurion Leisure, based in Hornchurch, Essex, has been a member of SPATA since 2015, building on its legacy since 1968. The company has garnered multiple awards, emphasising top-notch design, craftsmanship, and personalised customer service typical of a family-owned enterprise. They specialise in creating the dream of stunning indoor and outdoor pools and wellness and spa facilities.
Gold Standard Award - Residential Outdoor Concrete Pools £125,000 and Over - Centurion Leisure
- Portrait Pools won the Peter Geekie Award for Retail Excellence
- The Paul Kite Award for Pool Star of the Year was won by Rockingham Swimming Pools (Tom Busby)
- Aqualia won the Outstanding Residential Pool of the Year Award
- Buckingham Pools won the Outstanding Commercial Pool of the Year Award
The following companies were honoured with the top BISHTA awards on the night:
Hot Tub Suppliers is the celebrated 2024 BISHTA Peter Newbery Award for UK Innovation winner. The award showcases individuals, staff members, organisations, companies, and partnerships for introducing initiatives, products or processes with inventive approaches as they navigate a developing and competitive industry.

- Hydropool Devon won the Gold Award for Hot Tubs Change Lives
- 1 Stop Spas were awarded the Gold Award for Showroom of the Year
Silver Standard Award - Residential Hot Tub £7,000 to £14,000 - Hot Tub Suppliers
