Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan and the sixth largest city of Russia, will host the 16th edition of the FINA World Championships. From July 24 to August 9, 2015, this international event will bring together 2,500 athletes that will compete, for the 75 gold medals, in six kinds of sport: swimming, open water swimming, diving and high diving, synchronized swimming and water polo. These competitions will guarantee a place at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games to the top athletes.
500.000 spectators will be expected: the Russian people have considered this event so important that Central Bank of Russia decided to issue a limited edition commemorative money.
For the occasion, Myrtha Pools installed 3 temporary pools: a 35×22 water polo pool, located in a temporary arena, built in the parking area of the Aquatics Palace aquatics centre, and two 50×26 pools –a competition pool and a warmup pool- each of which is installed in the Kazan Arena Stadium.
During the FINA World Championships, this football stadium will be divided into two distinct areas: the former will be open to the public and will held the swimming and synchronized swimming competitions, the latter will be a restricted area, reserved to the training of the athletes.
These two pools are equipped with competition accessories, among which two removable bulkheads. All the three pools has been built using Myrtha Technology in only a month and a half of work: a very short time of installation, guaranteed by the exclusive modular system of Myrtha Technology.
