Interbad takes place for the 30th time from 22 to 241 October 2024. At this anniversary edition, the industry meets under one roof for the first time. At the L-Bank Forum (Hall 1), the largest hall at Messe Stuttgart, 26,800 sqm will be given over to swimming pools, saunas and spas. This illustrates the status it has achieved as one of the world's most important industry platforms for public and private swimming pools.
From Olympic highlights to municipal transformation: a landmark year for Pools, Saunas, and Spas at Messe Stuttgart
The premium hall at Messe Stuttgart will also be able to be used for the upcoming editions of the trade fair in 2026 and 2028. This year is a triple anniversary. Alongside the 30th edition of interbad, the DGfdB Congress, which is being held at the same time, is taking place for the 70th time, and the German Sauna Association is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
The municipal transformation project developed with Z_punkt, "Pools as enablers in the commune from 2030", will be the focus of the stand of the Deutschen Gesellschaft für das Badewesen (DGfdB - German Society for the Pool Industry) and the congress programme. Although the German pool industry, referred to as the "mirror of society", is unparalleled worldwide and open-air pools are considered by many as a cultural asset, there is still too often a politically narrow view of the costs. This is why pools need a different standing and new self-confidence. At interbad, the focus will therefore be on the opportunities and potential of pools in the municipal transformation.
Ultimately, every change provides good opportunities for the future that need to be exploited. Concrete innovation ideas will be presented, from which new narratives for pools as municipal enablers can be derived.
Innovations take centre stage at interbad 2024
Further highlights on the show's opening day are a keynote speech by Britta Steffen, the latest German Olympic swimming champion in the women's category. The popular special section, "Saunas from Finland", will once again be present in 2024, in partnership with colleagues from the German Society for the Pool Industry (DGfnB). In addition, Bäderallianz Deutschland will be on site, using the event to hold a conference.
Further, the Young Innovators Programme of the German Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection supports the participation of young and innovative companies in the Economics and Climate Protection stand at interbad. The mobile swimming pool "Wundine 3" will be officially inaugurated on the Wednesday by Minister Theresa Schopper. Also on Wednesday, as part of exhibitors' evening, the Innovation Award will be presented. For the final day, a public interview with the reigning Olympic 400m freestyle champion, Lukas Märtens, is planned. The audience can expect an exciting look at what goes on behind the scenes of the Olympics, interesting facts on the future of competitive sport in Germany and a possible Olympics bid from Germany for 2040.
Three exciting days in Stuttgart. Your visit will be worthwhile.
