GreenTech International has appointed Mark Sheppard to support the introduction of its Hydro Dioxide water treatment technology to the UK hospitality and holiday park sector.

Hydro Dioxide targets biofilm in commercial pools, spas and hot tubs

With extensive experience in the industry, including 17 years with Forest Holidays, Mark Sheppard will work with holiday parks, hotels, cottages, spa resorts and other commercial recreational water facilities to promote a more proactive approach to water quality in swimming pools, spas and hot tubs.

Distributed exclusively in the UK by GreenTech International, Hydro Dioxide uses chlorine dioxide technology to target biofilms and microorganisms that can be difficult to address through conventional chlorine-based treatment. Biofilm can develop within pipework, tanks, filters and other parts of water systems, creating reservoirs where microorganisms may survive and subsequently return to the water.

Supplied in tablet form, the treatment is designed to be incorporated into existing water management regimes without requiring major plant modifications. According to GreenTech, it can also help reduce chemical loads and potentially limit the need for draining and refilling, contributing to lower water consumption and operating costs.

For GreenTech founder Steve Martin, Mark Sheppard's knowledge of the hospitality and holiday park market will help the company address the operational challenges faced by these facilities.

"I'm looking forward to getting out into the sector and showcasing to operators the value that Hydro Dioxide delivers. There is an opportunity to change the way businesses think about water treatment - moving away from reacting to water quality issues, which can be extremely costly and potentially result in facility closures, towards a more proactive approach that helps maintain consistently high water quality", said Mark Sheppard.

Hydro Dioxide is manufactured in the UK and is aligned with GB BPR requirements.
