Bombas PSH, a Spanish company founded in 1910 and specialised in manufacturing pumps and accessories for swimming pools, presents Giant, the first swimming pool pump manufactured in plastic with an Archimedes Volute.
Since the introduction of plastic for industrial purposes, the pump manufacturers try to replace the traditional cast iron by this material to obtain lower costs and to avoid corrosion problems.
The problems of the manufacturing in plastic, in particular the removing from the mould, have so far prevented the manufacture of plastic pumps with Archimedes Volute, and all the pumps on the market are consequently plastic pumps with diffuser. Pumps with Archimedes Volute have better performances than the pumps with diffuser.
The constructive solution offered by Bombas PSH, SA is based on the division of an Archimedes Volute in two halves which solves the problem of removing and allows for the first time the manufacture of such pumps. This new solution has been duly registered as an industrial model.
The company presents this novelty with the Giant series and its models from 4 to 12,5 HP. Pumps of this series are thought for large private pools and small collective ones, and present the big advantage to be suitable for sea water and water treated with salt electrolysis.
