The company GACHES CHIMIE SPECIALTIES, a well-known player in the public pool sector, launches GAROfiltre, thereby making its technology available to private owners.

This new filter medium is composed of polished glass granules that can be adapted to any sand filter. Furthermore, GAROfiltre has a dual filtration system: mechanical (such as sand) and adsorption (electro-static attraction). The combination of the two thus results in an unparalleled degree of filtration (15 microns as against 40 to 50 microns for sand).

One of the main characteristics of this filter medium is its ability to greatly reduce chloramines (formed by the reaction of chlorine with nitrogenous matter carried by swimmers: sweat, hair, urine...). These molecules are the source of unpleasant chlorine odour, eye irritation and respiratory problems. Garo filter works upstream and prevents the formation of these molecules.

Winner of the innovation award at the 2009 international pool exhibition, it also received a trophy for sustainable development at the Salon de la Piscine (Pool Exhibition) in 2008.
