WaterBeck is highlighting pool covers designed to cut a pool's energy consumption by up to 80% while also making installation easier for the trade. Its roller shutter systems are largely pre-assembled at the factory, helping pool builders reduce on-site installation work.
A versatile solution for both new-build pools and retrofit projects
According to WaterBeck, both the slats and the winding assemblies are largely pre-mounted before delivery. As a result, installers mainly need to fit and assemble the cover on site, which helps streamline the installation process.
The position of the pool cover can be planned in several ways. If the pool is still at the design stage, the shutter can be integrated into a separate shaft attached to the pool or placed beneath the steps. For existing pools, several mounting options are available either inside or outside the pool shell.
The most discreet option is to install the winding shaft below the waterline. For this in-pool configuration, WaterBeck uses flanges designed either to be cast into the concrete or to be fixed into the pool wall. For retrofit projects without drilling into the wall, hanging brackets anchored beneath the coping stones can be used instead. Because the underwater stainless-steel motor is integrated directly into the winding shaft, the overall construction remains compact, making retrofitting possible without the need for an additional motor pit.

Pre-assembled slats help simplify installation on site
In the above-ground version, the brackets are connected to the winding shaft and fixed to the coping stones. The installer then connects the slats to the shaft and clips the remaining slat sections together on the water surface. For this type of installation, WaterBeck also offers bench units that can either be custom-clad by the installer or supplied with timber cladding.
According to the manufacturer, WaterBeck roller shutter systems are suitable for freeform pools, rectangular pools and prefabricated pools with Roman entry steps. This gives professionals a solution suited to both new-build and retrofit projects.
