About 20% of all new pools built in Europe are fitted out with so named alternative disinfection systems. Most of them are salt electrolysis equipment which represent a simple and effective method of chlorine production and produce clear, clean pool water.

However, one of the disadvantages is that this salt water has a very aggressive effect on fittings and for e.g. on the heat exchangers. Pahlén AB has invested many years of experience and technological development to make their products resistant against the negative effects of salt water.
