Ecros presented at the Piscina & Wellness Exhibition of Barcelona their new chlorine tablets which will go out on sale in the 2018 campaign. Thanks to a microencapsulated additive, they drive out mosquitoes from the pool.
The challenge has been to stabilize in the same tablet elements incompatible with each other, such as chlorine and geraniol, well known as insect repellent, and that both dissolve at the same rhythm in contact with water but remain undisturbed during storage.
This has been possible thanks to an innovative technology based on nanotechnology that has been patented by Ercros and the Institute of Nanoscience of Aragon of the University of Zaragoza.
Thanks to nanotechnology, the microencapsulated antimosquitoes substances are protected of the reaction of the chlorine, reason why they do not degrade nor they lose its functionality. This technology is also valid to microencapsulate in chlorine tablets other type of additives that the market demands.
The new tablets have been developed in the R&D&I department of the Ercros factory in
Sabiñánigo, which has also launched boric acid free chlorine tablets and bi-layer tablets.
