For over 35 years, HotSpring® has been a leader in the spa industry. Hotspring manufacturer, Watkins, has recently introduced successfully an innovation: the ACE® Salt Water Sanitising System with diamond technology, which provides  a virtually maintenance-free water care solution.

 

A patented system

 

The ACE® patented system is the first and only integrated hot tub salt water sanitising system using diamond technology, an innovation that allows consumers to more easily care for their spa with fewer bottled cleaners.

 

This system’s exclusive and unique diamond technology, which is used today to keep water purified in European breweries and international cruise lines, is a first application for the hot tub industry.

 

The system’s diamond electrode, along with two titanium electrodes, increases the sanitising power while using less salt than other salt water systems. It also automatically generates five different cleaners instead of just chlorine, reducing the amount of bottled products to measure and pour.

These five powerful and effective cleaners from 1500 –2000 mg/l of salt (NaCl) and spa water (H2O) are: 1. hydroxyl radicals (Ë™OH), 2. ozone (03), 3. hydrogen peroxide (H202), 4. chlorine (HOCl), 5. peroxymonosulfate (HS05). The salt concentration is small compared to electrolysis systems for swimming pools (4,000 – 5,000 mg/l) and even more so compared to seawater (32,000 – 40,000 mg/l).

 

 

Thanks to the ACE® system, the spa water will last 2-3 times longer compared to a traditional spa water treatment with chlorine granules, significantly reducing water consumption. By generating the right amount of cleaners inside the spa, ACE eliminates the industrial production and transport of these chemicals in plastic bottles, reducing the carbon footprint.

 

A kit for former spas

 

Moreover, Hotspring Spas has recently launched a kit to equip its spas made from 2004 - 2009 with this system to extend these ecological benefits to all its existing spa owners.
