Eurospappoolnews is the official media partner of the aquanale - International Trade Fair for Sauna.Pool.Ambience. Once again we are reminiscing about the success story of the aquanale with a review of the 2019 trade fair.
A noticeable increase in visitor numbers in 2019
This year, the twin trade fairs aquanale and FSB (International Trade Fair for Public Space, Sports and Leisure Facilities) made a great leap forward, particularly with regard to the number of visitors. The exhibitions registered a total of 28,000 visitors, a clear increase of + 6 percent. And the industry visitors' nationalities were also much more diverse with an international proportion of 67 percent (2017: 62 percent). One pivotal reason for this was certainly the successful integration of the FSB Public Swimming Pools exhibition area into the aquanale brand in 2017. Thanks to this development, 281 exhibitors from 31 countries participated in the 2019 aquanale across 24,500 m² of total exhibition space.
The specialist events were divided into eight main topics
Overall, the 8th International Swimming Pool and Wellness Forum covered eight key topics. The event was organised and hosted by the German Association for Swimming Pools & Wellness (bsw) and the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS), ), who together also selected the conference's theme and subject matter. Professional support was provided by co-organisers the Federal Association of German Swimming Professionals (BDS), the German Hotel Association (IHA) and the International Academy for Bathing, Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAB). The various lectures and forums examined, for example, the renovation of public swimming pools, social and economical sustainability and the future development of the industry. Innovative architectural planning and engineering in public pool constructions was also on the agenda. A further subject area concerned European standards in the private and public swimming pool sectors. As in previous years, a large number of visitors and exhibitors took the opportunity to participate in the diverse range of free events on all days of the trade fair. German/English simultaneous interpretation was also provided at all presentations so that attendants could not only listen, but also ask questions and join in discussions.
Beaming winners of the European pool "Oscars" presented by the European Union of Swimming Pool and Spa Associations (EUSA)
The 2019 aquanale was an international platform for numerous awards ceremonies
In 2019, more associations and institutions than ever before took advantage of the tremendous international importance of the aquanale as an exhibition and business platform to present honours and awards during the event. For example, the winners of the IOC IPC IAKS architectural prize were announced, as were the new title-holders of the Golden Wave, the innovation award bestowed by the trade magazine Schwimmbad & Sauna. The winners of the EUSA Awards 2019, renowned as the swimming pool "Oscars" of the European Union of Swimming Pool and Spa Associations (EUSA), were also celebrated .
